As a member of the Lower Academy Art Club, the students have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and develop their art skills. In addition, the students have the opportunity to go on field trips related to Art approved by the Life Skills Department and complete work for their portfolios. Members of the Art Club will be able to interact with peers that share the same interests.

    Upper Academy Art Club

    Sponsor: Ms. Lilian Gonzalez

The Upper Academy Art Club is for students grades 6-8 who are interested in the arts and would like to develop technical skills and have creative expression throughout the year. It is for students who want to draw, paint and create more artwork outside of the regular class time. The students selected do not need to be an artist or enrolled in my class to be part of this club. At the beginning of the year, portfolios or sketchbooks are reviewed by the art teacher to see student abilities and make selections.  Art projects are completed that get entered in exhibitions, art contests and community projects such as the murals you see around our beautiful school. We participate in school-wide projects as well. Meetings are usually once a week, right after school on Wednesdays. Art club is a great organization which provides students with hands-on projects and a place to talk about what is happening in the art world. We also have planned trips to local galleries and the museums. Lastly, it is a great opportunity to plan a portfolio for Magnet school auditions
